Attn: People that wear mirrored/tinted face shields

Just a couple of questions.
1) Do you ride with your clear shield at night? If so, do you bring it with you and switch when it gets to be a pain in the *** to see ahead of you at night?
2) Do you say F*** it and ride at night with tinted shield?

Thanks for the info.
Ben

I usually ride with my mirrored shield during the day...and if I think I wont be home to change it, i will carry it with me and change when I cant see straight.

I believe (I could be wrong) that you can get a ticket for riding with a tinted visor at nite.

When I ride during the day I'll change the visor (tinted) but if I know that I'll be out after dark I'll keep the clear one.

Im sure you can. I think in certain states will give you a ticket for riding with sun glasses at night. LOL, that happened to those ***** on Orange County Choppers at Bike Week...

SO Im sure it will carry over to shields too.

If it's too dark you can get a ticket at night. One way around this is to ride with it up but again, in some states, you'll still need some sort of eye protection. You can carry some clear specs under your seat for this, they're smaller to carry than the sheild and won't get scratched as easy. I also saw on e-bay once someone was selling clips that attach to the windshield that you would clip in your extra helmet shield to so it was carried under your windscreen but was still out of the way of road debris.

I bought a no fog insert that darkens in the sun so it works out really well and you can not fog my visor no matter what you do.

I would usually switch to the clear visor if I was gonna be out past dark, but one time I forgot to do so, and found that you can actually see just fine with the tinted visor at night.

I ride with my mirrored all the time. Depending what type of riding I'm doing, such as back country twisties, city riding or highway miles, I will either switch to the clear(back country), deal with the reduced, or I always carry a pair of clear or yellow glasses with me.

I used to change mine at night but I hate the sound my Sunomy makes when I go to change it ( sounds like the thing is going to bust in half) so now I say screw it and bring some yellow glasses with me, if I decide to lift my shield
