Im currently deployed out of country and plan to get a street bike when i return home, what is a good bike to start out on, and how many miles is too many for a used bike? i dont want to spend over $5k. I really like the look of the late R6 models. Thoughts?

 

if you find a bike you like try finding someone thats good with bikes to go look at one with u, people on CL will try and screw u over

Some bikes can be total crap and clapped out at 5k miles while well taken care of and not badly abused bikes still fine at 20k.

What bike depends on what you want to do with it and what you like.

 

Alright, thanks for the help. ill try to find a buddy that knows more about them to help me out. Any hidden signs to tell if the bike has been abused? obviously road rash and chain condition are clues, but any other way to tell?
