There is no fast way to polish anything. And you will also have to repeat the process often to keep it looking good. Its a hassle in my opinion if you really want that look just fork up the $$ to chrome it.

I'v done my share of polishing... The way do realy do it is depending on your part ( lets say a peice of machined billtet aluminum ) Is to wet sand it down very good with about 600 grit. Then with a Bench grinder and a stiff cloth buffing wheel and a course compound start buffing....Then when you get it as good as you can with that go to a finner compound with a softer wheel...Untill you reached a very fine compound and very soft wheel...Then get out the never dull or mothers ands shine it up...This will give you a miorr like finish...Better than chrome. Dont forget to keep it shiny with mothers or never dull

My old 9hundorr was all polished and It was a biatch to keep up! You'd have to buff that **** like once or twice a week just to look decent. If you polish and go out for a decent ride, when you get back it don't look no good. Fugit. Get some chrome colored Krylon or Rustoleum and you'll be the 'est motha around!!!

Post Possible Help!!!

I don't remember the specific site that I got this from, but this guy ("Dean Germain") wrote this article on frame polishing, thought it might help you out. It's in Microsoft Word format, if anyone needs it in another format let me know.

Use oven cleaner to get the anodizing off, MUCH faster than trying to sand it, but take the grit of the sandpaper up pretty high, I always used up to 1500, you won't see the fine scratches as bad that way, but fug it now, I just let er drop LOL

oven cleaner is the way to go , then (i've done this many times) power sand 600 800 1000, then wet hand sand 1200 1500 2000then go with a buffer and MOTHERS aluminum polish
