whats the $$ for an engine swap 600 to 750?

i feel like i've just been raped.

i bought my gixxer with a blown motor that was mickey moused back together by welding. i took it in yesterday cause it was leaking oil and found that out. thats a good way to get a bat in your face. sell someone a biek with a blown up motor WTF!!

so does anyone know how much does the conversion cost in just labor im guessing im gonna spend around 1000 -1300 buying the complete motor.

any insight on an engine swap would be greatful
also any insight with this situation would help im gonna take the guys *** to court and if that doesnt work im gonna round up the buddies and kick his ***.

It depends on who does the work bud... If you are gonna try and get a complete motor and pay somebody to do it, you are lookin at close to a grand. If you do it yourself, it shouldnt cost more than 200-300 bucks for the welding job. I had my frame modded to fit a 750 motor and it cost me right at 250 bucks. I did everything else myself. If you need info on how to describe what you needed done to the welding shop, let me know. You are gonna have to drop the 600 engine and bolt the 750 motor in with the back motormounts and leave the front undone, take in in and tell em to hack off the front mounts, shave em and weld em back on. If you need pics, I have those too.

I've done the same, get a 750 complete motor, and put it in like Lb3 said. Mine cost $120 and looks good. All in all your looking at about 1,100 dollars for everything. Sell your other motor for parts. I need a ECU / Main computer off of an 02-03 GSXR 600 I'll buy from you if you have it.

well lemme tell ya guys something i dont have much mechanical experience just spark plugs and oil changes so far. funny thing is a guy came in the store i work at today and told me to do the same thing. although, i do have a lot of exp with building comps i dont think that will help here.

so what else do i need to do so that engine could run in my 600?

did you just ride the bike to the weld shop with the engine unmounted in the front?

another question id like to ask is if its worth changing teh 600 to 750 ?

lb3 hook me up with your email addy mine is jshukla@socal.rr.com

The 2000-2003 750s and the 2001-2003 600s share the same basic frame, BUT, the front motor mounts are different. And they are welded to the frame. The 750 motor is about a quarter of an inch taller than the sixhundy so it has shorter front motor mounts than the 600 does. The 1K is a completely different frame. It is much beefier.

Yes. Its really too damn bad suzuki didnt stick to the same frame design across the new gen gixxers like they did with the old ones except for the 1100. Any 96-99 750 motor will go into a 96-2000 gsxr 600. 98 adnd 99 750s were FI so you will need the complete motor kit if you go with one of those, as well as a 750 gas tank and fuel pump. You can mod the 600 gas tank if you cant find a 98-99 750 tank, but you still need the fuel pump.

If you are talkin about throwing a new gen 600 or 750 motor into an older gsxr frame, then you are going to have to mod it. There is a guy here in austin that put a 1k motor in a 97 gsxr 600 frame. I dont know if he had to mod the back motor mounts in addition to the front though.
