Question 02' GSXR Overheating....help!!

I've got an 02' GSXR 750 that keeps overheating. Hopefully someone on here can help me out with a fix or any ideas I may have missed. Here is the story: The bike was bounced off the limiter in a burnout till the tire blew. It blew off the right coolent hose on the back of the motor. The bike runs fine now but when it gets to temp it overheats. The hose, water pump, and radiator cap has been replaced, and it still overheats after it gets to temp. The bike isn't mine, so I kinda need to figure this out Damn Suzuki's can do that all day long on my Honda w/no problem!!

verticaljay is a decent person
add coolant to both the radiator and resevoir. Run it till it gets real warm (fan kicks on) then let it cool down and check the resevoir level.

If that doesn't work check if the collant pump is working

might have burn out the sensor in the radiator. if the fan isn't kicking on then look at the sensor. you might have to use a test light and look at the wires going into the fan.

You probably have air pockets in the coolant system. follow verticaljays advice. I also had the problem Scott_LegionST described as well. I now have the stocker fan and a secondary fan controlled by a switch and I can do burnies as long as I want now without over heating.

Thanks guys! The cooling fan is working, I'll try filling both the radiator and overflow up when I get home and see if it works. It usually gets to temp and starts boiling like mad, I'll give it a shot thoe.

Are you running straight water? Be sure to mix your coolant properly. I have had great results with waterwetter and distilled water. If its boiling, you have airpockets and your coolant might not be mixed right.

Ok, we hard wired the fan to run all the time, gutted the stat and it seemed to help, but it still runs hot and wants to puke. I'm goin to try mixing distilled water with the correct amout of coolent next.
