Stunting is illegal?
I live in CT and was in a un-used parking lot (in Milford,ct) stunting with some friends.
Cops came and said that wreckless driving is illegal whether its on your own property or not. He said "if you are endangering yoursefl or anyone else it is illegal, and thats what your doing".

WTF? but its okay to pay off the town to have stunt shows in the area?

guys please help me and my friends- we are just looking for a place to stunt in ct without being bothered or arrested.

is it really illegal?

If there is public access to the area you are stunting on (IF someone can drive in to the parking lot or on to the road) Aka Drive ways parking lots ect... It will be a wreckless if the cop is a ***** ... If you have permission and block it off most of the time you should be good i know some towns make you get a permit though... It is diff everywhere do some searching and you will find something on it.

that is kinda fucked up.. if you are on ur own property, like tc said just block off the entrances, and you should be good. To bad that cop already knows about the area tho, more than likely if he comes back you will get a ticket.

 

We have had cops tell us to leave but they did not really mind that we were there... But if someone calls in They have to make you leave... We would just come back another day... But the truth is... You should not be there if you do not have a permit, permission, and have it blocked off.. And i would not go blocking off access to something with out permission from the owner cause that could get you in other sorts of trouble i am sure... Just go find a warehouse... You wont have much trouble and they have good lots most of the time... If there is truckers asleep in there trucks i would stay away from them they get pissy..

 

Alot of the warehouses have lots in the back that aren't visible from passing traffic. Hit em up on Sundays and your gravy.

 

it's not illegal on closed of property

but if your riding on property that has street access, it's considered a road, and your supposed to follow the rules.

You can get a dwi sitting in your driveway



some cops just feel since your on a street bike thats made for the streets, that you have to follow 100% of the traffic laws ANYWHERE you ride..
But I guarantee if your in the grass on a dirt bike or quad, cops aren't even going to look at you twice.

I've had a cop pull me over for riding in a field before.. Was riding down to my dirt bike spot to meet up with my friends. Cop followed me into the grass and pulled me over! then started telling me he can give me a CNI and stuff for riding there.. He ended up letting me go but it was ridiculous, if I was on a dirt bike it probably would have been fine

 

+1 I have had a cop bother me but yet a buddy of mine was riding my cr250 and he said the dirt bike was fine because it wasn't road legal!

I had the property blocked off though, and had permission to ride there so I told the cop that and that I wasn't going to stop riding and he just left..

 

We Have a 2 acre gravel parking lot at my parents house that sits in front of are shop and i was on my dirt bike messing around and had a cop pull in and tell me he could give me a ticket and i needed to ride more responsible.. And i live about 20 mins out of town... Next house to me is about 1/2 a mile away.. Lol Any cop if they are a ***** can find something for you to get in trouble for... Just dont worry about it really

 

a cop can say whatever he want but if your on your property and are not harming anyone it wont stick..... plus you can tell him to get off your property if he doesnt have a warrant to be there

if i wanted to i can rip wheelies on my front lawn with a gun visibly on my side as a cop drives by ....

he may not like it but too bad cant do **** ....

 

i was under the impression if it on your property or private property its fine. i know there are people that get documents drawn saying that the property owners allows them to stun on their property but takes no responsibilty for harm done to them or anyone else and anyone stunting with them is under they're care so on and so forth and ppl show it to the cops and they just leave. but every state and every cop is different so. i got pulled over the other day cuz my visor was up and i didnt have eye protection

 

It may not stick but they can make you stop and they can give you a ticket.... And i dont know about you but i find going to court to be a pain in the ***... The fact of the matter still is where ever you are... If there is access from a public road and you do not have it blocked off the cops Can make you stop... If you are at your house more then likly they wont... But i was just making a point that it can happen...
