Red face is this a good deal...2002 gsxr100

so this guy I know has a 2002 gsxr100 for sale, clean title, i guess he says its got some kind of stuntin **** on it, tails cracked, side plastics are alittle scratched up but nothing cracked... forgot what he said the mileage is at the moment i know its alot... the bike is in FAIR condition... it has a starting problem, the kid says it does NOT need a starter it needs something replaced and the problem will go away, he wants 1500 from us for it. i was thinking if we bought it we could put some new plastics on and hopefully get a pretty penny for it, my boyfriend thinks i could also learn how to ride on it so i dont have to sell mine to get a clear title

what does everyone think??? good deal??? goood idea to turn and sell it??? good idea to learn on a 1000??? (the boyfriend said he could rig the throttle so i dont gun it by accident and go over backwards... not sure how safe a screw in the throttle is though) if we buy it and sell it without fixing everything do you think we could get more?

(the kid is selling it cause something happened and hes desperate for the money... he was originally selling it 3 days ago for 2200... maybe if we keep him hanging another day the price will frop again!!!)

Your boyfriend is trying to get rid of you. Don't learn on a 1000.

Not worth the head ache. I had a TL that had starting problems that wouldn't go away... So I rigged it to get rid of it. Took a while to.

BAD IDEA! Rigging the throttle may work, but sounds really half-assed.

gsxrs are death machines anyway, especially learning on a 1000

Re: is this a good deal...2002 gsxr100

I do have a r6 but i bought it with a rebuilt title so NY is making me go through the salvage exam again. im trying to figure out how to get out there and friggen learn already!! but i didnt think rigging the throttle of a 1000 was a great idea... the throttle is where im having all the trouble getting used to to begin with !!!

so no one thinks its a good idea to even buy and sell?? Im not so much a bad *** so its deff. not the bike to learn on for me!!!

Re: is this a good deal...2002 gsxr100

1500 aint a great price ... considering u dont know what the starting problem is ....and its depends on how many miles ...do u even kno if it runs?.... it all depends on how much u wanna make
