F4i Air Ducts with or without
F4i Air Ducts with or without
Is it safe to take the Ram Air Ducts off the bike on ride? My uncle told me it’s better because then the bike will have air coming from all over instead of just form the Ram. Just an FYI I’m not a stunter yet, I getting into that, however I ride the street most of the time.
1 more thing if I took the Ram of and put little fog lights at the beginning of the Ram do you think that would be ok?
Thanks guys….

if your thinking youll get more power with them off your wrong dont know if thats what your trying to get at but those are for ram air. which is the faster you go the more air you get
Re: F4i Air Ducts with or without
eh.. ram air really doesn't make THAT much pressure, using a typical bernoulli formula, (P=V^2/A) you'll find that most bikes will see a max of only .7psi at 200mph.
that's not **** at "low" speeds like in a lot or on a highway. thats more land-speed resord tuning **** like for maxton or bonneville.
they're are usually tuned for intake pulse modulation to help with flow into the motor, as well as create a venturi and kill resonant frequencies from intake pulses. as well, they'll catch rain and contaminants n **** when used..
if you're just gonna mount lights, hell.. do it. it's your ****.. my guess is it probably won't affect anything adversly till maybe 130mph, when you start to eclipse intake velocities at WOT.

oh ****.. man. you're absolutely right.. i just wanted to kinda throw out some rarely known numbers
the ram air tubes DO work.. theres proof of that in the model change on the ZX11 when they went from the single-inlet C model to the dual inlet D model back in the day.
the float bowl pressure reference should be ok as well.. i know for a fact that ANY small vac leak will **** **** up bad. had that on my 7 one day drag racin. got my *** whipped due to one silly *** line halfway off on the airbox.

Thanks for the input…..
As far as what I’m looking for is if the bike will run better with out Ram then I will take it off, if not I will leave it on. I don’t need more power or anything like that. I was thinking putting the fog lights there just because at night I can’t see **** with the stock lights….. I think I’m going to put the Ram back on and look into HID lights.
