Question ZX6R gearing? and pics of my bike(s)

I'm New to this Forum. Simple question though.

I have a 99' ZX6R thats only cosmetically modded.
I just got a -1 sprocket for the front, But I am hesitant to put it on
because i dont want it to throw my spedometer off. or mess with the sensor.

Question is:
Will it throw my spedo off? and if so is this fixable?

Re: ZX6R gearing? and pics of my bike(s)

if your bike has a speed sensor on the front sprocket cover then it will throw off your speedo but if your speedo is cable driven off your front wheel then it wont ....
i think my 95 was a cable but i don't remember if the 99 is or not

I want to say 99 is from the front rim, but I'm not 100% sure

99s do have a speed sensor.
any idea on how gearing it down will effect the rpms at 60mph (rpms will increase but how much)?

rpms now sit 666: 60mph, 6th gear, 6000 rpms +/-. Any guess on outcome

Re: ZX6R gearing? and pics of my bike(s)

going down one will not throw the rpms or the speedometer off enough to worry about either maybe 3 mph and 500 rpm
