Chroming...
Chroming...
Has anybody here chromed their ride? Frame and all? Is it completely pointless cause you'll F it up when you stunt it? How much does it cost? blah blah blah....any info would help. It sounds like it would be a total bitch having to drop the engine and put the whole thing back together with kid gloves so you don't scratch it.
polish
Its better to polish the beast rather than chrome it.
Atleast if its polished and you dent it up you can tig weld
for repairs and repolish the weld straight away.
If its chromed than you gotta strip the finish right off, repair it
polish it anyway ( b4 chroming ) then get it redipped.
Pulling bikes apart isnt as hard as it seems either.
Just done everysingle metal piece i can get my hands on,
on the blade and once its all apart its easy to see what goes
where.

1. Most chromers only scrub to 600 grit, the best to make the chrome attach itself to the aluminum.
2. Seeing as 600 leaves bad looking deep scratches on the frame & other parts, skip the chroming as the scratches will show thru the chroming and it will peel in time anyways after excesive heat from the motor.
Just polish as the others said, repairing and repolishing is rather simple and you can redo most damage yourself.
Also nice after a winter or year of riding, just get out the compound and wheel and brighten her back up in the garage at home.
I actually polished my 92 gsxr 1100 back in 92, trust me the chrome isnt worth it.

alright...well unfortunately my brother and I have already taken apart his F4 so I think we're kinda past the point of no return. he works for a chroming shop and they are going to do the whole bike for free. I'll post some pics once its done
