03 600rr frame on 05 600rr bike?

Will 05 600rr parts swap to a 03 600rr frame for SURE?!

Friend is gonna trade his newer quad for a 03 600rr, and found a deal on a 05 frame in town.. And was gonna have me swap it all

Is it a direct swap?

Re: 03 600rr frame on 05 600rr bike?

only major difference in the bikes that im aware of are the forks and subframe. i know all the plastics are swapable and engine cages are all the same so i would assume the frames are the same.

When you say a little heres and there, you mean a little 03 and a little 05 parts right?

Not "a little of this wont fit and a little of that"?

I have NO problem with plastics not being exact, or headlights, or like exhaust hangar or whatever..

I'm just worried about swinger/shock/forks/engine/tank/

Re: 03 600rr frame on 05 600rr bike?

I just talked to tony prez.. who had a RR and did some swaping and he said all the parts swap out nice... the subframe is different but it bolts up the same.. just like if you have a subcage for 03-04 wont fit the 05-06...

Re: 03 600rr frame on 05 600rr bike?

Doh, I musta missed something

not getting the fuel pump to prime

Checked over everything for about a hour... All relays are perfect and hooked up, TPS hooked up, all injectors/air box sensor hooked up, I tried jumping the tip over sensor, it says its in neutral and putting the kickstand up doesn't help, pretty much everything looks hooked up, and looks fine

but no fuel pump, and it doesn't run

the 3 relays that are together one is for the fuel pump the other 2 for the fan , doesnt take much for corrosion to build up on those terminals try cleaning them or swappig them around , worth a shot

I believe my friend swaped em around (SAID he did anyways)

Imma wait tell tomorrow to look at it again, maybe jump the diagnostics port and see if it shows me any warning codes

I'll also switch the relays around

Its a 05 or 06 (can't remmeber the year exactly...) so I don't think its a corrosion problem

Although I didn't personally look at the relays, only my friend did

Hopefully I can get this thing running early tomorrow.. I wanna ride, and I'm stuck working on his bike tell It moves

I have an 06 and it happen 2 me twice last year, when i say corrosion it doesnt neccesarily mean that powdery white **** on the terminals, this bike is very sensitive to this and it doesnt take much to screw up these relays. even if the terminals look fine clean them up anyways and spray down with electronic contact cleaner corrosion inhibitor

Re: 03 600rr frame on 05 600rr bike?

I DID CHECK ALL AND SWAP ALL THE RELAYS SO I KNOW THEY'RE NOT BAD BUT AS OF CORROSION I DON'T KNOW ALTHOUGH THEY LOOKED GOOD THE FEMALE SIDE COULD BE CORRODED. I'LL GET SOME SPRAY.
