No plates or wrong plates?

I searched but didn't find anything. How much trouble can you get into for running the wrong plates or no plates on a clean bike? Mine got stolen.

Well its gunna cost you more if you have a wrong plate on it and if you run with no plate your most likely to get pulled over because its not there. A state tropper told me that when I got pulled over once. No real trouble just a few more dollars in fines thats it. I usally have a wrong plate cos you have a 50/50 chance of a cop not running your plate.

Which is kind of what I was hoping someone would say. Its fightered tho and all black so it might not be too easy for anyone to really even tell what kind of bike it is even if they did run the plates is what I'm thinking.

I ride with a boy that dont have a plate at all, He only rides really when theres a group of us and he is usually toward the front. But if you got a extra plate off a bike thats around the same model and year most cops wont know the diffrence between a gsxr and a 626..

You could always do what i do....Run no plate and if you do get pulled over say "OH **** I HAD IT ON THERE IT MUST HAVE FELL OFF.. IM REALLY SORRY SIR IM GONNA BACK TRACK RIGHT NOW AND SEE IF I CAN FIND IT" It works for me but then again its all on how much of a dick the cop is!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: No plates or wrong plates?

Thats **** wording genius haha. I won't hesitate to try that. I do have another plate off a similar bike tho so I'm not sure what I'll end up doing. I see some I ride with that have their plates way up under the tail so far that you can't even see them and they never get jacked with. I'm not going to run anything stolen either. I don't mess with any of that ****. I just wanna go ride. There is a lot of cops around here tho and they get pretty dick sometimes.

Re: No plates or wrong plates?

Just passed a statey on my way back from the wheelie spot. My boy stayed in front of me the whole time so h could run interference if anyone got behind us and as soon as he left I passed a friggin black and white. Dunno if he even noticed but it made me pucker.

Re: No plates or wrong plates?

i was pulled over not too long ago with no plate, zippn in and out of traffic doing 65 in a 40, and lucky for me the copper was a rider, and he let me go. it might help i had all the papers, but he told me to mount the plate and take it easy. guess it all depends on the pig.

Re: No plates or wrong plates?

Well I went legit with it anyway. I got it inspected today which is something I never do and I'm going to get it registered tomorrow so I can get a new plate. Funniest thing of the day was zip tying a mirror to my throttle cable so I could get through inspection. Oh, and I had to buy insurance. What a **** wording rip. I'll put pix up of the zip tied mirror job tomorrow when I can take pix in the sun.
