MX Bars on a Sportbike

Maybe someone can can answer a question or send me in the right direction...

I'm contemplating putting MX bars on my Katana 600...Not to stunt it, but to improve my seating position comfort.

I'd like to speak with someone that has done it to their sportbike to find out if it's anymore comfortable to ride...

I have the bars, mounts, and upper triple tree...To complete it, I have to get extended front brake lines, and possibly a cable..

I just want to make sure its worth doing, before I go through the trouble and expense...

Anyone have anything to share?

Re: MX Bars on a Sportbike

If you have all the stuff to switch, I'd give it a try. May look a little funny though. I did mx bars on my 03' 636 but ot was streetfightered and yes more comfortable, but give it at least 2 weeks of riding if you're gonna switch.
And the Katana already sits upright compared to sportbikes.
As for brake lines look up a local place that makes hoses and lines and you should be able to pick them up a lot cheaper.
If you didn't already have the set-up I would of recommended the heli-bars.

Hope this helps.

If you do a lot of highway riding it gets annoying at speed because of the wind...but it is a lot more comfortable

Re: MX Bars on a Sportbike

For general cruising comfort, DB bars are the ONLY way to go..

Everytime I make this 300 mile trip with my friends, they are always hunkered over, extending their back, looking like pain the entire way...

I sit STRAIGHT up.. back straight as an arrow, after 300 miles, Im ready to go out and do some more riding :YEAH
