Are Gixxers seriously THAT gutless....

I went and rode this kids bike yesterday and was trying wheelies on it. I was timid so I wasn't about to just dump the clutch on an 06' Gixxer but I wasn't being very nice to it either. The back tire finally warmed up after spinning it a couple of times, but as I went to dump the clutch it seriously felt as if either (A) the clutch was slipping or (B) there is ZERO power around 4k? I don't know... maybe I was being a sally considering I didn't want to dump this kids bike (and I HATE riding other peoples ****) but it seriously felt like it has ZERO *****!

Anyone else feel that with the new Gixxers?

I don't know what it was, but I didn't like the feel at all. And I've never felt anything like that before, I thought something was mechanically wrong with it so I just brought it back to the kid and got off of it.

I'm used to -1/+10 on my F4i, but even when I rode my cousins stock F4i it didn't take much at all to get it up in 1st with a little slip of the clutch.

your f4i prob is geared and the gixxey was bone stock.......it also wasn't yours and I am the same way......you just can't kill it like you should or you would end up like Klem on your back with some other dudes bike skidding down the street.

I must not be used to it b/c honesly it felt like his clutch was fried. It was so unresponsive I could have swore something was broke. But, I was also being a sally and not really dumping it from 8k.

i think ur right cause my friend has an 06 and had a hard time clutchin it up in 2nd gear. the ended up just goin -1/+1 and then could do it alot easier. not sayin that it cant be done stock, just sayin it aint really easy

shut the **** up mister "I got everything on lock"....

but on topic.... the new 06's (all of em), have nothing downlow, dispite what the dyno says.

the R6 is worst of all of em, you really have to rev the **** out of it to raise it from a stop.

Alright, well then I guess his clutch was fine and I was just being a sally and not droppin' the living **** out of the bike. Good thing I didn't b/c my luck it would snap up faster than my F4i and there goes his tail section.

Re: Are Gixxers seriously THAT gutless....

Well heres the deal. All the new bikes are "no comprimise" track bikes. They have very tall gearing and most of the power is up top. This can be fixed with a gearing change, but it is how they come stock now.

Stunting is still possible (look at Kane on the new kawi's), but it just takes a different technique
