Anyone do this? I know this is nothing new but its a mod i want to do. What is involved? There is a rim on ebay i can get now. So any quick good answers will help. Do you use the rotors off the 900? Do they bolt right up? Spacers?

 

I believe it is a straight swap on the 96-97. I know the rotors do not line up on the 98-99 and the spacers are diff.

Why would you put a 17" wheel on?.....just wondering?

 

Because every other normal sportbike in the world runs a 17". I am also sitting on 3 sets of race take offs that are 17".

 

what year is your 900??? If its a '95-'97, your rotors and spacers will work with the f3 wheel. '93-'94 900RR's need the f3 rotors and '95-'97 900RR spacers. I believe that there are spacing problems with the newer 900s. ('98-'99).

I have a '98, Will my rotors fir on the f3 rim? I guessing i'll just need the 5mm spacers right? Does anyone have the ID and OD measurements of the spacers I will need?

 

No, '98 900RR rotors will not fit on an F3 wheel. I'm not sure about the spacers.

 

I have an f3 wheel on a 99 RR forks.

I had to shim the calipers about .5 mm on both sides. I put flat washers on the caliper mount bolts in between them and the fork.
