those old SRAD gixxers are freakin' bullet proof.... i've had nothin' but gixxers since '86 and have had every body style ever produced, parts for the bike are cheap and plentiful, 96-99 750 parts fit and 97-00 600 parts fit that machine... it's still a great street bike and a bike to be reconed with at track days... on gixxer.com there's a swap out to put a gixxer 1k motor w/ F.I. in with some fabbed up motor mounts and cutting on the lower plastics, once it's in place only a serious gixxer owner will notice the subtle differences in part locations on the bike... i say buy that m'fer and ride it hard... i had a '99 600 that i put 40k miles on and it was still tight and right... these engines are designed to go 80k easy w/ proper maintenance...

oh yeah, 2800 is a fair price... a great price would be 23-2500... but if he won't budge then it's still worth 2800...

 

i would find something better for that price... lower miles...
