F4i/gokart?

ok so i have an extra F4i motor that just needs a little work and it would be good to go....

how hard would it be to get a rolling frame and just fab up some brackets and **** to hold the motor so i would have a 160mph go kart? lol

i really want to do this....

Re: F4i/gokart?

yup yup.... i am thinkin of doing this also with my other motor......................it really isnt that hard. set the motor in the frame, and make the motor mounts have a place to bolt..... just be sure that the sprocket shaft is going to be 100% straight other wise you will have problems

Re: F4i/gokart?

My buddy was in the engineering program at the University of Toronto. They made a small tube frame race car with a sponsored F4 engine. It was pretty kick ***, and handled well (1.9 G or something crazy) They spent about $16,000 so it was done right...I'll try and post some pics.

It was half way between a go kart and a Mini cooper in size.

i saw that same vid i think...it looked like it was in england or somewhere like that....it was a gixxer 1100 motor...
i dont know how in the hell they fit that motor on it without extending the frame...but it looked like the frame was stock to me. I know i couldnt get one to fit with out stretching it.

you could put bigger tires in the rear but....the bigger the tires, the higher the rear will sit and that means the front is getting lowered...those karts are already low as hell as it is and if the front gets any lower, it's gonna drag BAD.
i guess you could build the rear of the frame similar to a "C notch" when you put airbags on a truck. raise the axle above the frame to accomidate the bigger tires and keep it the same height .

anyone who has a spare motor and can get ahold of a kart frame and knows how to weld should build one of these...me and my buddy built one a couple of years ago with a "SHADOW" frame and a 02' gixxer 750 motor...these are fun as hell to play around withand if you do the work yourself and get the parts pretty cheap, you wont have but about $1500 in it.

I think Ltlf4i is going to buy mine this weekend, maybe he will take up where i left off and finish it...and post a vid when it's it's done
