900rr spedo probs....????

ok, does this sound familiar to anbody??? sometimes my speedo works, sometimes it don't, i'll be going down the road and it will start to work, then the needle just falls back down, i never took the speedo itself apart......my tack and all gauges work fine.....could it be a bad connection in the wiring someplace???

thanks in advance!

if you got the old cable style, then it might be that the gears are screwed or not mated

Speaking of speedos

anybody know the numbers on true speed when geared, say 1 down 3 up? sure I could run along side a car but isnt there a mathematical equasion on this?

Schwartz will become famous soon enough
Mathmaticaly. If you went 1 down 3 up heres how it would work. Simple math on this one. 14 into 1 which I think is stock gearing on a RR. 7.1% and 45 into 3 is 6.6% total change 13.7% from stock gearing. If you reading 65mph multiply that .137 you get 8.9mph take the 8.9 mph away from the 65mph and you get 56.1mph. Try that math on the fly at 60 LOL.
