This may be taboo, but i got some ???'s

This partains(sp?) to frame stamping. It was all so simple in the beginning. I was just going to take all the required paperwork down to my local dealer to have a blank stamped with my vin #'s.

Here's were the problem comes in. Being that i wanted the "whole" frame polished i figured it would be best to have that done first. My thought process was i didn't want to get my frame stamped and then chance the guy polishing so much off the neck that it would look shady. So i bring my polished frame to the dealer and they were going to do it. Well, at the last second, and for some reason still unknown to me, a manager says they can't stamp it. Long story short they become asses about the whole thing and basically accuse me of trying to get a stolen frame restamped.
By this time i am obviously furious and about 2 seconds away from flying across the counter at a few of the ****s. They start in with the **** about not giving my frame back and they were going to cut the neck off! Only then did i threatened to come across the counter, or get my gun out of the car. Now they threaten to call the police. Thank god soemone there had one sane thought for the day. So i did the honors and got 5 squad cars down there in a matter on moments.
After the dust cleared i had my frame back with some scratched courtesy of the dealers employee's, and told them i would make their moms choke extra hard on the kizock later tonight.
All this leads me to my question. Is there any other place than dealers that have the ability and knowledge to properly stamp a frame. I don't want any trouble or hassles when i take it back to the FL DMV for inspections. I would send my frame to whoever can do this properly(in state or not) before i would let this dealer lick the chit from my *******. So any idea and/or suggestions on how or who i can get to stamp for me?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Thanks, i would appreciate the info. Also, to clarify....even with both frames they wanted to chop off the neck of my damaged one. Even though it could still be used for track duty. Something to do with 2 frames having the same vin. Which i told them i understood, but didn't want to ruin a frame that still has potential. Figured they could grind off the numbers from the old vin and put some sort of stamping on it showing it was not for street use???

Are you saying that you have the ability to stamp frames. Provided all the legal documentaion is provided to prove such ownership?

Re: This may be taboo, but i got some ???'s

Just to clarify....I DID have all the correct paperwork present showing where, who, how, and how much i got the frame for. Everything is completely legit with my title and everything, but when someone tried to show off and assert their macho attitude everything got lost in the translation and the heat of the argument.

Just need a legit alternative to a dealer. And unfortunately the front office lady at the office for DMV inspections is of no help at all.

What type of frame is it? I'll ask around in the St. Pete area. Also, you might think about calling up the maker of the bike and telling them what happened and see if they have any ideas. Please let us know which dealer f*cked you over though. I live close enough to you that I may accidently stop in this place some day.

Re: This may be taboo, but i got some ???'s

Guys i would really like to just blurt out the dealers name, but there are some extinuating circumstances. It would be wise, for the well being of a very good friend, that i not drop the name. He was not there that day and had no idea what had happened until i spoke with him later. He knows how seriously pissed i am, and is not taking it lightly. Hopefully some change over there will come of this.

Just be very cautious with whom you choose to do business. As a matter of fact my boy EJ just open shop in PP on 70th ave i believe. I'll be going there from now on.

Any other suggestions on how to get this done would be great. Thanks for the show of support guys.

Why are you getting a blank frame stamped anyway? With all the theft down in Central Florida I can understand where the shop was coming from. Also as a victim it makes me cautious. What type of frame is the bike for?
As long as everything is legit like you say it is, then it's cool.

Because you can't ride a bike on the street without valid vin numbers on it. derrrrrrrrrr. Second of all bikes get lifted everywhere, so what does that have to do with the price of rice in China at 4:40 in the afternoon in the middle of a rain storm? It doesn't, so if you want to insinuate that i'm jacking bikes, then you had better come forward with some proof and stop being a coward. Otherwise you need to SFTU. And not that it matters, but what the hell makes you think i've never had a bike stolen before. Once again, it doesn't matter. So stop your crying and back handed insinuations, pick up your 2 cents off the floor, and keep walking.
If you or anybody else is so concerned about me stealing bikes as you so sheepishly tried to suggest, then call the Pinellas County Sheriff's Dept. and cry to them this thread.
Or better yet get a life.

Christ some of you people act as if you have never heard of frame stamping. If you people can't help out then just keep on passing through. I don't need opinions that partain to nothing but you trying to throw in some worthless 2 cents.
If you can add some knowledge here, then great i would love to hear it. If not then just move along.

I ask why are you getting a blank frame stamped and you come back at me with this ****? A little uncalled for, I think. I don't know why you so ****ing defensive about the topic anyway. And no, I have never heard of people getting frames stamped and I've been around bikes for 20 years.
I never called you thief, I just asked a simple question and you blew up. That's it.

Sure, don't find much time to do so, but you can find all the haps on the craps at www.seductivecycles.com There's always something going on with us.

Ok, now back OT here. BESIDES the elves who else does this sort of thing? And no, i don't mean holio's mobile stamping service out the back of his van. Talking legit places here. And one that doesn't require that they destroy a still good, but slightly blemished frame.

Just because you jump on the internet, and say 5 squad cars were there (which I doubt), and that you threatened somebody with a gun (which I doubt), and then get your panties in a bunch the minute somebody mentions the amount of stolen bikes in Florida (which is true)... DOESN'T EXACTLY MAKE IT SO!

So, based on your behavior in this thread, I have come to the following conclusions:

1. You are an a55hat of the highest order.
2. You are gayer than a bagful of condom flavored breath mints.
3. You probably ARE dealing with stolen gear... see #1.
4. You are acting like a toughguy on the internet... see #2
5. You will probably threaten to kick my ***, even though your Mom would never agree to let you drive her station wagon all the way up to Syracuse NY.

Where the F is Sclevela when you need him... ???
