I've got a D&D slip on currently, sounds ok I guess but I would like it to be a little louder, I used to have a gsxr with a vance&hines slip on, the ssr2 I believe.. sounded very nice, crackly and loud when you hit it.

I've heard you can hollow out the pipe somehow to get it louder, anyone know anything about this?

 

The best way to make your exhaust louder is to cut it down 4 to 5 inches. Don't cut it down past an overall can length of 12 inches or you will start to lose to much back pressure. It also looks hot as hell and gives more clearance for scrapin'.

If you'd like i can cut it down for you. Turn around time is a day.

I run a Vance & Hines on my Gixxer 750 and hollowed it out with much success.

Here is what I did: First I drilled out the rivets on the end of the pipe and removed the end cap & baffle. Next I removed the packing (this is the stuff that looks like fiberglass insulation). With the packing removed, your bike will have a much louder sound and a meaner growl. It may not be legal, but it will sound wicked!

I later cut down the length of my pipe, which gave it even more grunt.

God, that **** sounds horrible as it is, let alone if you hollowed it out.

Man, if your bike LOOKS crunchy, that's one thing. But do you want it to SOUND like a HUGE PIECE OF ****?

I bought a 98 gsxr600 a few years ago, and the guy threw in an extra can with it. It's like a polished/chrome finish, straight through, generic can. All it needs is a hanger. It's not doing me any good, you can have it for shipping plus $10. Let me know

They have to be the most obnoctious pipes out there!
No really to make it louder chop the damn thing I have the Yosh RS3 street and pulled the baffles and chopped it like 3" and that made a huge differance. so yeah there ya go chop it!
