Re: Do you have your motorcycle license?

Yep got mine after about a month or so of being too broke to afford the class!

Paying for the bike and gear was pretty expensive for me as it was!

Re: Do you have your motorcycle license?

Just a permit that i renewed for the past 2 years, going to go for a licence this year tho. Not sure if im going to take the courses or the actually Road Test,

What are they charging for the courses around you guys. I'm in NY and the places i would go would be

Westchester or Dutchess
Rockland Community College- (Suffern, NY)–
and the Westchester classes
Basic RiderCourse $350.00 ($330 until January 31st, 2005)

Poughkeepsie (LaGrange)-
Basic RiderCourse $275.00

Is this about the average? Plus you have to wait to recieve the course *certificate * about 4-6 weeks then bring it to the DMV to have the road test waived ????!!!????

Re: Do you have your motorcycle license?

I've had my license since late '01 or '02, I don't really remember. I picked up my KZ550 to learn on and decided to just keep it, got my license on it about a month later. Some of you say that you can't keep it in the cones; I don't know what you're testing on, but if you can find a buddy with an old standard bike (like a KZ), they're a piece of cake to walk through the cones. I had a couple of guys show me the test setup (there's a painted course in a couple of the local school parking lots) and I just worked on it a few different times before I took the test. I think the test was about $15. Don't be lazy about it, just find a way to get your stuff straight and legal.

And for the few guys rockin' it with no insurance, WTF? Good luck to your family when you pound your *** into something at 50 mph and they have to pay for your wheelchair van, not to mention whatever four wheeler you did the pounding on.
