Glamis......

I know every year you guys bring up going.... I was running some numbers to go for a Thanksgiving trip (biggest party at Glamis)

It's 2,600 miles away.

To rent a 8 person motor home for that distance is about 5g's. We'd split it between eight and then split gas. If we could get 8.... last problem we'd have to get atleast 6-7 quads there too. Not sure of the moto home could pull that for that distance.

Anyway, you're looking at atleast 1,500 depends on how many people go and what we take there.

Any serious takers? It would be about 10 days at the end of November and I would start payments in the next month so there aren't any last minute dichers. You make deposits as we go and if you back out then you loose your money. If the group depneds on you and you can't go then the group would end up having to pay more and that's not fair.

Anyone not have clue what Glamis is... www.glamisdunes.com

Girlfriends that go still pay a full share, if they have a quad or not... this includes me.

Re: Glamis......

the glamis trips people might be the best bet to get the quads out there....

I have contacted them to see exactly what the rv rental... I'm not sure if that means they have them there to rent or if you rent them there, or what...

Who would fly and who would drive? Flying might be the way to go just because it's cheaper to get a plane ticket then buy gas, but I think I'd like to make a cross country trip outta it.

If we're serious about going I'm buying a freakin quad asap LOL
There are also camping fees and riding fees. Glamis isn't free, but it's not a lot. either way you slice the bread it's definalty looking at 1200-1500 per person.

So far it's scott, john s, ed, and myself. I will make plans for 4 if no other takers.

Even if we take ed's truck and shoved all 4 quads in the back and on a small trailer, you're still looking at atleast 4-500 per person in gas. Maybe that is better because then we're there and so are the quads and then we still ahve to rent a motor home, I'm not pitching a tent in the ******* desert LOL

Re: Glamis......

$500 to get you bike and gear out there. The motorhomes are about $800 to $2500, you should go with those guys, there are so many things you need to know, it's easy to get lost/run over. Bikes will blow up and a bunch of those guys bring extra parts/engines/tools.

The guys from Glamis Trips go the last week of October and the second week of Feb. Don't go on Thankgiving there are way too many people, trucks and sand rails are doing like 130mph running into people on quads and dirtbikes. Everytime I've been there at least 5 people have got run over and killed.

To be totally honest there are way too many cops at Glamis and most of the riders are 100% squid.

If you guys are going to go it alone go to Little Sahara, Utah. Bigger jumps, bigger bowls and the sand is never rutted out like it is at Glamis. During weekdays you'll have the whole place to yourself. Plus it's only like a 32 hour drive from Philly. Glamis is about 50 hours non-stop from Philly.

I'm going to Grands Junction, Colorado and Kanesville, Utah in April and September if backflips and 200+ jumps are your thing.

If you want to party and see naked girls go with the glamistrips guys in Feb, everyone out there knows them and they get the party going at Olds Friday and Saturday night.

Re: Glamis......

Brett do you know where they get the motorhomes? Do they rent them there? If so could we rent a camper instead?

Scott are you sure you'll bring your quad out to ride? I mean it is awful pretty...
