A few of us ran into the guy putting this together this year. It's at the stadiums this year. vendors arriving between 9 and 11. He said to email a list of stunters coming this year and to try to arrive at the same time. So im gonna throw him an email in a few days with a list. please reply to this thread if you can ride in it. We've been doing this for a few years and I think with the new venue it's time to actually put a good show together.

Steve, which wachovia parkinglots? what city, philly or trenton?

Give me a call cause Im sure a bunch of us are going to want to ride in it, HOWEVER, WE (ALL OF US, BDSF) SHOULD BE GETTING PAID TO DO SO.

I think we should have a talk with this "promoter" and let hiim know that the entertainment gets paid or NO ONE RIDES! And by paid, i dont mean thousands, im not trying to get rich, but we should at least be getting our travel expanses paid for! Especially those traveling farther like Larry. These guys have been getting a free show out of us for YEARS now, its time we get a little. We dont need this event (for a place to ride) like we did in the past. Lets get something done.


Or everyone can just ignore me and go pay (i know you are getting in for free, but costs to get there is still paying) to go ride...

 

the Philly wachovia. i hear ya about the pay. That'll be something we all have to agree on. As in the past there was no mention of pay but the agreement is that you get in for free so you can sell ****. The shitty thing is that the crowd doesn't seem to buy **** from us. If we don't show up then they'll have the power wheelie guys, ruthless will show up around 6, and TOCC will be there. All of whom are capable of putting on enough of a show that they'll be like BDSF who. So if we boycott it this year then we'd have to get the tocc guys and ruthless on board. Otherwise we weigh the pros and cons.

 

Paid gas would be nice, but i doubt it will happen.

Get TOCC on board with NO RIDING unless they are going to take care of TOCC's and BDSF's gas money. Let them have power wheelies all day and a LATE 10 minute half a show from ruthless... next year they will be beggin us to come ride.

Like i said, if we work together, we can get somewhere... or we can all be satisfied with getting screwed (by screwed i mean paying to get there so we can sell nothing cause they charge too much at the gate, then riding for their show... sounds like a bend over deal to me)

 

I Never Did This Show Before So I Don't Know What It's All About. I Am Working On Another Show That Weekend Up Here That Would Be Real Cool To Do If They Bite On It. We Will See, But I Doubt It Will Happen So Whatever You Decide.

 

I also talked to the promoter the other night and unfortunatly it's a day laste and a dollar short. He said you can't tell him a week before that you want money. He said that every year he doesn't even know if we're coming until a week before so he has no problems making room (ie: vendor spots ect.)but payment is something that needs to be budgeted way ahead of time. maybe you can work on something for next year.

or you can get brutal and just threaten to not show considering you guys are the whole show, he may listen.

Also, maybe this year you guys can plan show times around the free-for-all.

 

i like to think if one of us doesn't go then none of us should go but my view is rare in this sport even between team mates it seems. anyway i think john's been emailing the guy and he "conveniently" didn't know about it. As i said in another thread i've never been paid to ride so i never expect much. I say we ride in it this year as is and negotiate next year. we've all improved easily 10 fold since last year and we can def rock a good show. I agree with sharon, we run the show out there so we should get there early and plan something good.

TO SHARON: That's bullsh!t, i talked to him about $$$ 1.5 MONTHS ahead of time last year and got the same run around, bottom linw is he doesnt want to pay!!! Also show times wont work cause well... you know where were at...

TO STEVE: I HAVE NOT been in contact (e-mail or otherwise) with ANY promoter of Philly Bike Fest, i didn't "convieniently" forget ANYTHING, If i had been, any info i had would've been posted.

BOTTOM LINE: NO ONE should go this year! That means EVERYONE from the BDSF AND anyone that we can convince that this is the right thing to do! In spite, if it can be organized in time, we should do a $5 stunt show (or free) somewhere close to there to draw people away!!! or maybe not... what are everyone else's thoughts??!?!?!
