stripping Powdercoat....

anyone know how the hell to get Powder coat off of a rim?
I found out that my spare rear rim is powder coated and I tried Aircraft stripper and that doesnt even touch it

Sorry bud. You have to blast them to get the powder coat off. Chemicals just won't do it. Sand blasting will work, but glass blasting is better. Check a couple of auto body places. They can usually do it or they'll let you know someone who can.

buy extra strength oven cleaner. spray it on and let it sit for 20 minutes, wipe off with damp sponge, repeat cycle 100x's and it will break down, then get dremel tool or buffer and use.................**** i forgot the name of the stuff but I'll tell you when I get home, amsoil pm me your number

I just wanted to strip the outer sides like I did on my other 900,my stock rims will come right off easy but I just fingered Id do it to the spare too....but Oh well I guess it will stay solid color

Sorry to all! If it is actually "Powder Coated" glass bead blaster or sand blast-or any chemicals won't touch it! It needs to be baked off at extremely high temps! Any powder coater should be able to do it for you.
