000 - brake fade is common, use HH pads and stop riding that rear brake :YEAH

but i thought riding the rear break was the norm, besides its like there is no break at all the foot leaver all of a sudden goes to the floor "so to speak" its like theres nothing there at all

 

you need to angle it so it doesnt suck air on the ground as well as when your verticle...maybe you havent enough fluid,maybe the boot is missing out of the resie..maybe your getting to agro on the brake and the aluminium pedal is bending down under the extreme pressure...this will cause the same feeling as brake fade,just reinforce the lever with anything you can find and weld it on so it strengthens the pedal...is it making a sqeeeeeling noise that means you havent got any meat left on the pads...maybe someone has changed the fluid and replaced it with engine oil...if all this fails get a spring out of a HR Holden rear brake drum attched it to your rear brake,this will make it hard and feel like you got plenty of brake,and also help you to use the engine to bring it back...

Lukey Luke here, under mattys name, corey, havent had the problem with break fade yet except in the heat, bit of a bitch but what can ya do... The only thing i can think of is what you've already said, braided lines. See ya's at stuntsville, couldnt get my bike up there, too many head f**ks but ill be ridin mattys mad max machine!! cheers

DOT 5 BRAKE FLUID, DOT 5, DOT 5, DOT 5.

You is boiling the dot 3-4 brake fluid that will be in your resivoir at the moment. Back in the day when i was learning 12's i had the same problem, you use the back brake that much the **** water you got in at that moment boils, gets thinner till you basicly got no back brake at all, you leave it for 10 minutes and its back to normal for a while.

DOT 5 is dencer. Trust me change to DOT 5 brake fluid before wasting your money doing all the other sh*t.
