Question help with stoppies

whats up everyone? im not goin to lie to you guys and girls; i have raced for 5 years, and just started stuntin my kx125 (its a 1989) and today i tried rolling stoppies inthe parking lot but i just couldnt do it. i have rolled them for maybe 10-15 feet before so i know the basic technique to it, but today all my front tire did was skid on the pavement. the back end wouldnt come up for the life of me. i had it in 2nd gear tapped, all my weight on the tank hoead/body over the bars, and hit the brakes to roll one and my tire just skidded. is this because of the cold weather or soemthing? i was riding for about 30 minutes to warm up the bike, ect yadda yadda, so the tires were not frozen, and the ground wasnt wet or icy. can anyone help me out?

make sure your tire isn't wet...you could probably do them better on grass. just put your weight forwards and hit the brake. when the back end comes up try to adjust your body so the bike stays balanced. your fork springs could need to be replaced...try it on a diff bike, ur bike is kinda old...

Re: help with stoppies

on a dirtbike, you first have to compress the forks and then get the rear tire in the air. if you dont compress them, all of your stopping force is soaked up by the suspension, causing your front tire to skid. try pushing down on the front end as you initially get on the binders, then tweak the brakes a tad more and she will come up....kinda hard to explain, but this is how it works.
