Question Rebuilds?

How often would I most likely have to do a rebuild on a 2004 CR250R?

once a year, if you keep the oil and the air filter clean.

Only if its a track bike . My cr250 would last two years if I wanted it to. Granted it would lose some power but not enought to really matter on a 250. If its not a track bike I say once a year.

10 hours ya right thats proly wat carmicheal does, i hope ur joking, lol, if you race then you will proly go throw pistons pretty quick, but if you just ride around and keep the filter klean and dont run to lean it should last at least 5 months or so

im tellin you, 10hours clean filter, dirty filter and oil dosent matter, with a top end rebuild running like $60 why the hell wouldnt you, its just cheap and easy insurance, if you guys keep letting your motors go years at a time with descent use when you do rebuil your probably gonna have to replace or sleeve the cylinder and then its realy gonna cost you

oh and most of the factory pros mechanics rebuild every race and replace the entire bike about every 7

Just get a compression tester. When the compression drops down replace the rings. Every other set of rings do a piston too. It's that simple. With a 250 you should get way more than 10 hours unless you're racing. A 250 has so much low end compared to a 125 that you shouldn't be revving the thing to the moon all the time. I don't ride that often but I get 2 years out of a set of rings.
