jumping problem

jumping problem
I have a yz 250 and it's a bigger bike than i am used to riding, so it is creating a jumping issue. how can i extend my height and distance off jumps without breaking things? i probobally sound like a tool getting schooled by a 250, but i want to get better at this so anything is appreciated.
