Timing Yz125

I know this is a sportbike forum, but I need some guidance trying to get my timing set right on a 00 YZ125. Ive been a member of stuntlife.com for a couple of months, and I know there is alot of people on this board that will probably know. I think Im getting a little bit of pre-detonation(knocking). Do I need to align the TDC point with one of my point contacts on my flywheel, or should I back off the contact a mm or 2 at TDC. Yamashop wont tell me and I cant seem to find a reference on the net. I am unsure, and do not have an oem manual. Sorry for the stupid question.

Thanks

Re: Timing Yz125

you need to retard your ignition, turn your stator counter clockwise just a bit. this post is old...now sure how much it will help you now.
