Re: best 4stroke stunter (125/250/400)

I have an XR200. This has to be one of the most reliable bikes ever made. I ride the **** out of this thing all the time, and its never gave me a single problem. Its not good at all for jumping, but for trail riding it is perfect. It has plenty of power, it will haul for a 200 thumper. Only problem for stunting is that it has drum brakes, but it will still endo pretty good. It will wheelie no problem in 1st or 2nd, and if your good you can shift into 3rd and ride it out. I put an FMF pipe on it and it really woke it up. I suggest you look into one of these, i know they are generally overlooked and made fun of, but they are fun, reliable bikes with plenty of power for anything.

Little weak on the suspension buddy, if you tweak the whole bike out ALOT then you got yourself a decent bike. Might not have enough pickup to get you goin for the jump though. Lowest id go is a 250 for that ****

Ya i know the suspension is terrible for jumping. But when you say pickup do you mean motor power? Cause its got plenty of power for jumping or anything, just a soft suspension.

Re: best 4stroke stunter (125/250/400)

id go with the an xr250 or crf250x. he wants to ride trails as well as have it in the parking lot. A 250 will most likly be good both places the 125 i think would lack alot in trails. 250s arent really that heavy. he will be fine.

anyways i'm thinking;

TTR125 (can afford 00-03)
TTR250 (can afford 99-00)
XR250/400 (can afford 97-98)

so i cant decide which cc to go, i currently ride a gsxr600.

Pickup meanin how fast you can get from 0-60 or whatever speed you need to hit the jump. The acceleration. And you havent felt acceleration until youve ridden a 500 haha. Thing is a beast!

And yes to the 250 idea, perfect since they dont make the 500s anymore. The 250s are ideal for jumping, the perfect jump bike in my eyes. The 125 is great for just messin around on and it cant handle quite as much but the 500 is just too heavy...no problems with roughin one of those up haha. The new honda, the 450 dirtbike whatever that is...i forget the name, is kinda tuned weird stock and isnt as powerful as it should be. Not bad for jumping because of the 4-stroke and the bike is thin as hell. With some tweaking it would be really nice because it not only has power but you can throw that thing around like a 125.

Re: best 4stroke stunter (125/250/400)

tt125 is about the size of an 80cc dirtbike.. much smaller then a 125cc 2 stroke. I wouldnt try doing to many jumps with that thing cause its cheap as hell.. drum brakes and the susp sucks.. perfect for stunting in the street probably but for the dirt its a little kids bike. and 125cc 2 strokes make about 37hp crank. that tt125 makes 10hp.

Re: best 4stroke stunter (125/250/400)

if you wanna stunt it, don't get a two stroke.

no engine brake what so ever, you will land on your *** if you try SS or anything were you can't cover the brake

crf450 if you are doing street stunting..but the ttr is a good all around bike if you aren't doing hardcore stunts
