Red face "Superman" Wheelie

Not sure if this has a name or not? I saw SETH (from stuntlife) do this a while back....I tried it for the first time last weekend, and goofed around with it a little today and I think I've got it down pretty good now. It was a lot harder than I thought....and a lot harder than it looks....hurts the ribs/stomach too. I would have more pics, but our digi cam was being stupid.

Just figured I'd post it to keep the forum rolling.

Re: "Superman" Wheelie

you should name that Phear. It's like a grab bar grab superman wheelie, but that's a gay name. I've seen the normal superman wheelie beofere but...never that..sick

Re: "Superman" Wheelie

I saw one in the new super street bike magazine. It was on a red 400ex, so I figured it could be phear because it was at a competition, but I know his ex has gray plastics, not red.

Re: "Superman" Wheelie

Thanks guys....yup, I got the idea from Seth...to my knowledge he was the first to do it (though I suppose the world does extend beyond the realm of the internet...heheh). I'm not sure what he calls it, or how he even came up with it....it deffinitaly is not a natural position to be in because you sort of have to climb up the seat in order to be able to get your chest over the handlebars (at least I do because I'm not a 6 footer).

Yeah Drew, that is our still camera....didn't bother getting the video cam out for grass riding....Guess we gotta take things to the streets again...it's the only place to ride.

Well.....we were just out messin around so I was dressed in my clark kent outfit rather than my blue suit and cape.

I put on a helmet for the picture because I didn't want to influence any little kiddies that might see it

I always just called it the superman wheelie. I came up with the idea while we're out on patrol. THe picture in the Mag is when I still had my stock bars on there, and they hurt! But I got renthal's now with a pad that makes it much easier. That looks pimp josh, how far are you riding them? I do mine in 2nd and ride for about 100 yards or so.

I was doing them in 1st because we were on the back lawn....There is an upside and downside to that...haha. It's "safer" because you are going slower, but the stupid thing is so touchy it's harder to keep it balanced in the right place.

Since we were in a small area I wasn't riding them all that far....probably 100ft tops before you run out of room, but I'm going pretty slow so it seems like quite a ways. I'll have to go out in the road and do some to see how far I can go I guess....and you're right, it does hurt!!!

The first time I tried it I came down with all my weight on the bar still. I had to stop riding cause it hurt so bad. I have no problem going to the seat but when I grab the bar, I have to stretch. I'm just a shade over 5' 6"

Yeah that is Dan from our crew 2 or 3 years ago....He managed to pull it off without 12'ing so we started calling it the superman wheelie since an apehangar is technically at 12.....Either way they are almost identical.

Re: "Superman" Wheelie

there's so many different combinations it's not even funny. Dustin Hofert (nausty) does the superman wheelies all the time it's pretty sick
