Re: Boogers and Snot....

Good call.

I just need to figure out what I have to offer to a sponsor and present it professionally... I don't wanna be another one of these guys with 1 million stickers on their bike from companies that gave them a pair of gloves and a keychain....

I'd almost rather go Privatier style until I get some shows/comps under my belt. But I'm always looking.

Thanks again Drew.

That honestly sounds like the best way to approach it. You need to gain some credit to your name first, then view each relationship as a business deal and you're the product. It sounds funny, but I'm sure all the stunters making $$$ from this sport know what I'm talking about. It'll happen dude.... you've got the drive and talent. I'm here to help where ever I can along the way!

Yeah I just need to log some serious practice time... work on fundamentals - learn stoppies, get smoother, maybe do a no-hander at some point in my life... hahah

Drew if I lock down the camera situation think we can get some shots in VT of killing the (dirt) streets?

I have 3 DV cams....nothing fancy, just regular consumer cams, but they should work. I also have a "soon to be" helmet cam. I just have to make a battery pack for it, and test to see how good the quality is.

Yeah I actually have Jay's Old DV camera now that I think about it! I'd be willing to mount that pretty much anywhere on my bike... hahaha

LOL... I work for a video production company and also own my own production company. I think I can handle the camera situation. 3-chip sony's with fisheye and wide angle lens outta do it. Plus I'm in the same boat as Phear... got a helmet cam, just need to rig up a battery pack. It looks like I'll be able to make it on the 4th. No sooner though.....

No... probably won't have the CBR. I just ordered a new front fender... should be here this week. I'm still looking for one of those mirrors with a velcro strap to hang off the handlebar. Anyone got a link? Then I'm repainting everything and putting it on Craigslist.

You guys will make fun of my next bike... I'll be looking for a cheap commuter when the CBR sells. Something from the early 80's for $500 or less. I just want something to get to work and back.

Retro bikes are where its at!

That's sick that you can borrow a camera drew! I definitley have a good stunt spot in Georgia that we could spend some time at with no problems, would like to get some circles at the Burlington waterfront / bikepath, maybe something at the ferry dock, maybe some whoolies over the notch Rd, some circles downtown Burlington would be cool, like by church street... I'd like to drive around for a few hours one day with the bike in the truck and just get 5 mins of footage here and there. Scenery is Key!

Might even try to Have someone ride home with me so if I see anything cool I can bust the bike out for a quick session.

Retro = cheap! Still determined to buy a house, so all my $$$ is going into that.

I'm all about scenery shots. I'd like to have a bike to ride along on these shoots, but driving a truck spot to spot will work too. Sounds like between all of us, cameras shouldn't be a problem. Now we just need to get together and make it happen! But it'll probably just be Hazen and I because everyone always finds an excuse not to make it...

Re: Boogers and Snot....

It's definitley on. I told my boss if I don't get the day off, I'm just goin anyways. hahah

Drew I can almost definitley set up a street legal bike for you to ride whether it be one of my own, an '81 BWM 1000, an orange R6, a repsol replica 600RR (Jamie Lew), or maybe a couple other possibilities. I just thought a truck would be easier for Camera, tracking shots, equipment, travel, setup, looking more professional-ish if cops do roll in, etc. I was even thinking of buying some Home Depot Lights and get some footage on top of a parking garage or something. I'm also gonna try to bring 2 bikes or at least 2 sets of fairings to change up the footage as much as possible.

Re: Boogers and Snot....

Yeah I'll be right there with ya when I go get lunch in 10 mins... but unfortunitley then it's back to phone, fax, email, sales calls....

July is gonna be sweet. This guy isn't skurred of gettin caught doin wheelies. If you're filming from an unseen location I'm pretty much clutchin it out of there. You can take the truck and equipment when they chase me. haha Or if I'm clearly not gonna make it or they see you... I'll try to talk my way out of it. I think with 10 mins per spot we will be pretty safe...

there are some nice scenic spots on the Jay road (105 from richford to n.troy). Safe from the popo up there too.

Some nice views of Mt.Mansfield in the Jericho/Underhill areas too.

I won't be doing much for wheelies unless they are highway standups that get boring to watch after you've seen one or two.

Unless I find a stuntbike before then and actually figure out how to ride it.

Hazen transitioned nicely from the quad to the bike. What's your excuse?

Good call on the Jay Rd.

You gonna let me get on that Gixer grand for a minute for the camera?

I've never ridden a stunt bike is the only excuse I've got. Which is funny because I've owned two of them.

My 750 was too nice for me to "stunt", and my 1000 is WAY too nice for me to stunt.

I don't know anybody that has learned the slow speed / 12'ing stuff without dropping their bike, so if I learn it, it will be with something I don't mind dropping. I've had the front wheel of my 750 up at 145 on the highway, but it rarely found itself up in the air at a speed under 30mph.

As soon as I sell this sled I can get another stunter....that maybe I'll actually get to ride.

And Hazen, I know you'd fix something if you broke it, so I would say you could rock the 1K for a bit.

I just wanna get as many shots on as many different looking bikes as I can. Makes it look like it wasn't all in a day or 2...

Plus there's nothing cooler than rocking a stocker on the highway. :YEAH
