Jrods Bike problem! blah..

Just as it gets warmer out to tease the living crap out of me.... I notice a very slow leak on the bottom of my bike.

right behind the case cover. I know the case was brand new when I bought this salvaged thing, but I didn't know it obviously disintegrated during the crash! haha.. behind the case is bad. It's welded all to hell, so I dunno what first sprang the new leak.

Good 'ol John rolo is going to weld it again for me, so I can start beating on it this spring.

Hey Hazen, which cage does Jason(token) have for his 600rr? I think it was an MXD, but not sure. I'm really interested in getting one. I don't want to touch my cover after I get it welded again. I think next winter is new Clean Engine/Clean title time for the RR. I am going to make it clean w/ the new engine cause the frame is mint.

here are some pics of the damage. Hazen, I still need a master cylinder, and I'm sure John can help me throw on the h/b. I need another brake fluid resevoir thingy too right?

Re: Jrods Bike problem! blah..

the leak is from the bottom bolt weld. There is some rough edges and oil on the bottom bolt, so I figured that was the one that needed to be patched up again. Sucks how its the engine and not just the case. The guy before me must have hit really hard.

I didn't think people could weld where the bolt holes are... crazy..

Looks like an EZ fix to me. Yank the cover - glob up some weld, grind/smooth/sand/file it perfectly flat, throw some gasket bond on a new paper gasket and you're good to go. Don't forget to top off the oil.

J-rod Rolo prolly has a ton of master cyls but I'm sure I still have one somewhere. I used to think they were all the same - but even after using a Radial M/C I'm gonna drop the $$$$ and just get the Brembo. It's simply the best one I've ridden so far.
Spreader coasters first day back on a borrowed bike.... yeah.

As for the fluid cup - you use the small one from your rear MC when you take it off to put on the HB line adapter. It's already smaller than a front fluid cup so it's easy to mount up front.

Looks like a johnson rod problem? Have you checked your blinker fluid? Try calibrating the connector bearing axis point.

Weld the **** out of it and just re-drill it and if you have to run a tap through it.

cool thanks for the info... and yea i'm an idiot, obviously rolo has a ton i'm sure.

I'll let ya know how everything turns out. Dunno why it didn't hold in the first place, maybe the weld job just got rushed or something. I haven't wrecked for even dumped the thing at all yet. (knock on wood)

I also need to pickup some steel lines. and that sounds good, Brembo Radial M/C huh? I'll ask if he's got one, sounds like a good choice.

thanks for the input man. MXD cage = Token?? I'm lookin at gettin one.. I remember you mentioning something in Kentucky when we were talkin about cages.

Rolo prolly doesn't have a 16x18mm Brembo Radial Mount Master Cylinder.... but they are worth the $200 bucks from HAI.

You really only need it for coaster combos like spreader, seat stander, HC....

Token is running and MXD cage = True.
Sick Innovations also offers a nice one.
