question for any stunters
well when i was going to sleep last night i was thinking about bikes and whatnot...i have a question...may be simple and obvious but when pulling a wheelie..how do u get it back down? i mean obviously the brake..but do you apply it slowly? cuz i was thinking too fast would cause it to go over backwards.. do you push down with your weight as well? i duno, i'm bored..fill me in!
OK Jill it's time for a little physics prequil. When you ride a wheely you have a center of balance, determined by how high the wheel is up. At just the right point the front wheel will stay in the air, theoretically with no braking or acceleration. Any point lower than this and you can bring the front wheel down by chopping the throttle any point after you need to apply the brake to prevent you from going over backwards. I think I could explain much better if I could draw you some diagrams. I'm actually in a physics class as NEU, and I always catch myself drifting off thinking of bikes, "you could roll a much longer stoppie by increasing the tangenial velocity of the rear wheel while finding the balance point of your particular bike by summing the masses of each point at radius R...."
