freight is 85 bucks,

set up is 85 bucks. besides being bs, it IS a cost that we actually have to pay....the freight is honda's deal (ducatis have a much larger freight charge) and the set up is the shops deal-i have to pay a tech to build every bike that i sell.

IMO, freight and set up = a crap load of BS

the tech works for the shop, his time is already covered in the payroll for the shop (by screwing others on service for their bikes). and setup on most of the modern sportbikes is minimal. the freight is about $100 bucks that the dealership can eat through incentives(selling more bikes). frankly its a cost of doing business. you do have to spend alittle to make alittle more. i dont order a hotdog at a vendor and expect the guy to hand me the dog and say "that'll be $1.50 plus freight and setup". if he wanted two bucks for the dog, he should say that up front. THE BOTTOM LINE PRICE SHOULD BE THE BOTTOM LINE PRICE. the dealership is going to make that money back on a happy customer buying other **** you need for the bike through them, and through servicing that customers bike. anyway, thats my take on it. there are dealerships out there that will cut you that same deal w/o the freight/set-up BS, especially now.

of course you are correct...it is not MY dealership, i simply work there, and i'd be willing to bet that if ANY JOE BUM walked in off the street looking to buy, he would get wacked with the extra f and s....buying hotdogs and bikes/cars are two different things however, similar concepts but not really applicable.

part of buying expensive toys is negotiation, i and the dealership exist for business reasons-to make money. if you are going to pay 20 bucks mroe, than that is 20 more dollars in my pocket...ya see!!

however, like i said, i do the best i possibly can for anyone who i know or even remotely know....that being said, u wanna buy a bike?

teach

ps. dont forget about supply and demand...i guarantee you i COULD sell every new 600rr for the full whammy...there just arent enough of them to go around, and if you dont buy it someone else willl.....

i am a very fair salesman and do my absolute BEST for the customer, ask anyone who knows me!!

teach, dont get me wrong i was not slamming you, just the dealerships that try to **** their customers. i understand its a business, and that they are trying to make money. i just think there is a difference between making money and ******* your customers. anyway...
