02 CBR954 - how much?
02 CBR954 - how much?
I got a guy I work with looking at a left-over 954. What should he pay for it? I already know the CBR1000 is out and he won't have much luck selling it. The sales guy said he can't go lower than $8800.
What do you guys think?

He lives in Atlanta. I told him to offer $8000, leave his number, and walk out the door. If the salesguy see that he's serious, he'll call him back. But no way should he pay that much for a 2 year old bike.... new or not. Depreciation has already set it.

I agree. last year you could buy the same bike @ naults i think it was for 7,800. If they wanna move a 2 year old bike - new or not there gonna have to take one under the chin.
****, if nautls has any left i might be interested!

Re: 02 CBR954 - how much?
The only problem for the dealers is this:
Just because the bike depreciates, doesn't mean that the Dealer cost of the bike did as well. You are right, lets say you look up NADA on a 2002 CBR954RR and it says $6500. You would of course take into acount mileage, wear and tear and also that there is no warranty...usually. Left overs can be great deals if the deal is right. If you could get into a brand new heavy weight for anywhere between $8-9k then your doing good. Especially given that the industry has a 30% increase in price since the 98-99 CBR900RR's.
just my
