I can't possibly understand why anyone would want to keep someone alive for 13 years when they are comatose and she never wanted to be kept artificially alive...

anyone ever heard for a living will??? If you haven't, and you want to be able to die naturally and not be kept artificially alive, I highly suggest looking into one...

I have one...I made the decision for everyone...now nobody has to make the awful decision of whether to keep me alive or not...

Just seems sad....

frg is right, I have a living will, if you do anything that could get you killed, like cross the street, at least understand what it means. it could save your fmaily much anguish and suffering.

 

Do you think the husband or parents have the right to pull the plug????? Interesting?????

 

only if it is in the will, if not it has to go to the courts casue somene alsways contests it. I had to study some of thiss stuff.

Nobody will ever know what her true wishes were cuz she didn't have a living will... so sad that they have kept her alive for 13 years cuz her parents won't let her go... even though they know she is comatose...her husband says that she didn't want to live this way, but because she never told her parents, of course they will contest it...

her husband is her legal guardian...he has the right to do a lot of things...just not pull the plug...

I'm so glad I won't ever have to deal with that...

 

This thread, Bri's, and the well wishes for hessocrunchy are the reason I dig this group...you all aren't just about crushed tanks and burnt rubber.

I believe the husband knows what she would have wanted. It is not fair to keep her in a state where she can not live life to its fullest.
