I'm still hooked. It's just not that WOW that I used to get. I tell people about stuntlife all the time they look and they get that same feeling. Ask me where than can see this in person.

The FMX is different. 3 story in the air high jumps to me never get old. The fear factor is still there every time. Stunt riding is very technical and in my opinion requires greaters skills that doing some of that insane **** the FMX guys do. It's the same reason you were drawn to the TV when ever Evil Kenevil was on you wanted to see him crash. Somehow it just doesn't have the same HOLY CRAP response.

It just seems the WOW is gone and somehow needs to be brought back.

I love the acrobatics, that Elevator is effing insane one of my favorites.

I love the Tanks wheelies, the Ralph Louie wheelie is my all time favorite.

All of you guys got mad skills and my hat's off to all of you. Keep up the good work.

I must admit that since I have been first introduced to this way back when DTE was just gettin started... I was amazed! Simply for the fact I was a newbie at what I was seeing! So you will always have that part of an audience in the mix. However for the peeps that have "seen it all before"? Well, what else is there? Has anyone gone to an air show? All that is going on is the same thing all the time. Planes flyin around. Loopin, spinnin, divin you get the picture! But...lets take something like the Blue Angels. Craftsmen! Experts at the game. They have every single move planned exactly. At insane speeds! Inches from one another! They always attract every year! They are choreographed marksmen! I have never seen stunts on bikes that include a whole team at once doing crazy **** inches away from another! Yes I have seen duel riders etc but a whole show of controlled insanity? Think of it. 3,4,5,6 riders all at once that have an extreme technical planned out show of insane tricks? How sick would that be? Its always one guy at a time or maybe two but imagine the insantiy and attraction it would bring to the crowd. I mean something as simple (for a stunter that is) 6 guys 3 on both ends comin straight for each other. They all go up at the same time and do precise stoppies incehes from hitting. Then all do circle burnouts and head the other way in twelves? That would be a crowd pleaser anywhere and you really havent done anything different. I hope I made my 2cents clear and ef it if I diddnt !!!! Yeah guy!

Here is what I'm saying....

Last competition we had Chauncey compete against Anthony from Mirror Image in a slow wheelie contest. The crowd ate it up because we factored in Boston vs New York. The competition could have lasted an hour and people would have stayed. Why? Cause they wanted to see who would win. We could have kept them there all day if they knew there was an ending. The ending alone... the anticipation of the finding out who the winner would be.

Problem is now, when people get sick of wheelies and stoppies, they leave. No reason to stay. We need to fabricate a meaning to stay and keep them entertained. We need to give them something to get into.

Lata,
Bri

PS. I'm just throwing ideas out and trying to get the hamster wheels turning in all of our heads. I have no clue what my point is with any of this.... I just know things need to change. I think what we have is good but I think we're missing something.

ok... I'm gonna keep running with this because it's on my mind right now. hehehe

How long do you think you could watch a guy play catch? Or hit a ball out of Fenway Park? Or guys throw a football down the field? Or a player take a slap show from center ice? Probably about 30 minutes before you leave because it's the same **** over and over again. Yeah, he might be able to do different things with each pitch, but it's still a pitch. Now, take the pitch and create a harness around the talent and you have a sport.

Now think about this.... I bet the first time someone threw a ball into a catcher mit at 100mph people were amazed. Now take the whole idea and create a game around it. Everyone can play baseball but take the best 100mph thrower and catcher and create a game and THEY WILL COME to see the outcome. You see my point here?

We're all playing catch with no baseball game!!! We need the WHOLE GAME!!

Bri, I think eclipse has hit it right on the nose that is the best way to put on a show.

For a comp... Its good to do what you guys did with chaunce and ant. If comps did that more often it would be more interesting for the crowd... Think about it, baseball is boring as hell, so is golf but there is big buck there... why.... cause people have someone to root for.

soooo

For slow wheelie comp put 2 guys up against each other. Kinda like reverse drag racing

Routines are exactly what you guys need to do. I do video... and I have a good idea what loooks good .. The 3,4,5 guy thing is mint! Ive been saying that a long time ago ... Like the first time i saw a 2min freestyle at a stuntshow ...it was boring. Tricks need to be done one after another -------- in a routine. Let it be one, two or 10 .. I think playing to the crowd ..acrobatics... and organized routines done at shows etc. is the key to keep people attention. Even like Bri said , maybe we could include some sort of competition with an ending to top it off. I think EVERYONE is right in this thread and ALL the points just need to be mixed together.

Stunters and most people dont hate bcause of the tricks they hate for the attitude they have.

Look at it this way, I think that they are most likely the most profitable team in the stunt industry..... they appeal to the crowd. They also have big name sponsors.

but yeah they aint got crap fro technical stuff

i know when i need to bring in the WOW factor and raise their anticipation i usually just show the ladies my *****.

well, not really.

but anyway, i think youre on to something.

as far as shows go, i think they can be very succesfull but they have to be more coreographed. something the crowd can follow and take part in. i said it back in the DTE days, you have a lot of extremely talented riders, doing multirider tricks similar to blue angles and air shows is one way to hold the crowds attention. there has to be that "i want to stay to see what happens next" feeling. like listening to howard stern, that controlled chaos. he puts together a show that will facilate discussions that "you never quite know what could happen next" at least from a crowds perspective. i think that would add alot to the shows.

as far as the comps go, i think you are right bri. you have to be able to root for your guys, teams, what ever. I think having identifiable bikes, rider, teams what ever helps alot. if the masses cant distiguish one bike/rider from another than who the hell am i rooting for anyway? and if there isnt one sanctioning body for the comps then who is currently number 1? i think the comps need the most work, but you are on the right track.
