teach or anyone in the area
I snapped a bolt and stripped a screw on my 600RR, Anyone know where I can pick up a replacement today or tommorrow? Don't tell me the hardware store either. The grade/strength of the components are cmopletely different. I need OEM honda stuff.

Re: teach or anyone in the area
The bolt has a marking on the head that tell you the strength. I have picked up tons of suspension bolts for my Jeep at this hardware store in lowell. Their basement is full the grade 5 and grade 8 bolts. On the head of the bolt look how many markings there are and you can tell the grade of bolt. The only down side is that they are only open during the week. Bring the bolt in and the guys their will make sure you get the right one. I am sure there are parts bins at all bikes shops with these bolts also if you need to get them on a Saturday.

the bolt is from the casecover. And the screw I stripped is on the brake resevoir. Thanks peach.

Can you grab me a stock fairing stay too? I'll throw you whatever they want for it. I think zann's is a bit too much beef for my use and I hear the stock ones are better than the aftermarkets. Hit me up when you get a chance.

figured I'd reuse this thread instead of starting the 70000th teach thread.
I'm looking for opinions on this self made rear brake res. mod. Anyone ?

Re: teach or anyone in the area
Personally I would replace it with the orignal res. Just go with teach to argo and they will hook you up. On check out ron ayers on the internet. That is where I picked up mine for the 954 real cheap. You need a proper seal since all brake fluid goes bad when exposed to moister (air). Also if you get dirt in there you will destroy you seals and trying to save such little money is not worth the risk of having to replace the entire brake assembly include calipers and master cylinder.
Re: teach or anyone in the area
the easiest is to use the stock res...however, the way you have it capped is fine, as long as there is pressure at thelever. i used to intentionally put air in my line so that if i accidentally pushed the rear brake, i wouldnt kill myself.
no need to use the rear brake as an amateur...it is cool to back it in, but oftentimes it will slow you down...not even that many experts up there are all over the rear brake...
i'd run whatever is cheapest and most easily fixable.

Yeah that's my boss.
That setup isn't on my bike. A guy did it to his. I guess the location of the normal reserve on the 600RR has issues.
