XR100 not running right need help.

I didnt know where else to post this and this seems to be the best place to get the info I will need. I have an 02 XR100 all stock. it seems as if the carburator is not adjusted right or it needs a rebuild. When it is warmed up, and i am riding it, it hesitates when you open the throttle wide open to ride a wheelie or even if you want to go faster. How do you adjust the carb on this thing. There is one screw on the right side and I think it is the idle or am I wrong. It has fresh fuel in it too. Plug looks good too. It has to be a fuel mixture or carb issue. I just put street tires on it to start stunting and now I cant even have fun.

My carb screw is on the left side, but i'm not sure about xr100's. Just adjust it and see what happens.

You'll probably have to adjust the needle on top of the carb, then it'll flow more gas in and it wont bog down. Its also good to do when the weather gets really cold out.

On top of the carb there should be the part where the throttle cable connects to the carb. Pop that off, then you've got your slide piston carb. Adjust the needle up about 1 or 2 knotches. And put it back on. It shouldnt bog down as much.

Look at your manual, it'll describe it better then i can. I really dont even know how to describe it too well, i just do it

f1ftyyou have no idea what you're talkin about do you? Wasn't I the one who did that for ya?

Alright here's what I'd do:

step 1- buy some carb cleaner and run it through, it works wonders.

step 2- if that didn't solve your problem do what f1fty said and take off the throttle cap. Get to the needle in there and raise it 1 clip at a time (put the clip lower down on the needle). If raising it 1 clip helped a little, raise it one more. If it made the thing run worse go and lower the needle.

step 3- learn to ride wheelies all over again because you just purchased street tires.

I'd start with the carb cleaner make sure you blow it all out with compressed air and clean the air filter too and while you're in there rejet and adjust the needle just a hair, doesn't hurt to run a little on the fat side.

I will try what all of you have said and post the results. Now does the xr100 have a filter built into the tank? Do I need to put one inline incase? There isnt too much room for one. One guy told me he had shavings in his bowl because he had no filter in his bike years back. Maybe I am picking up junk in the tank.

I took the carb out, cleaned out the bowl and jets. It runs so much better but still has a little hesitation. But where do you adjust the the clip thing you where talking about? I am lost. Does anyone have a pic of what clip you are talking about??????
