2 Wheel set up ?????

Any body have or thought of having 2 complete wheel set ups.. 1 for street and 1 for dirt. I've been thinking about doing it due to the 1-2 hour turnaround on changing tires. Maybe i could just buy a set of those douglas 5 spoke and use those for dirt.. any ideas or cheap ways???????

Re: 2 Wheel set up ?????

Been thinking about it myself but damn is it an expensive route.. cheaper the two whole fiddy's tho hahah!

The billets are just retarded in price. I can't justify $300 plus just in wheels for a $1200 bike. Yet the stock rims are atleast $100 each so your still lookin at over $200 after tires and everything. I been lookin on here and ebay for stock rims but no go.. The stock ones I seen on ebay are going for over $100 each.

So I'm kinda stuck too. I want street tires for stunting but I don't wanna give up off roading either. let us know if you come up with a reasonable solution!!

Re: 2 Wheel set up ?????

Thats what I did, bought a set of the Douglas wheels and put street tires on them and run my dirt tires on the stock wheels. Only takes 20 minutes or so to change them out.

Re: 2 Wheel set up ?????

I think i would run the douglas for dirt considering they are alot stronger than stock... .. I'm suprised my stock ones have held up this long due to my weight and jumping i've done

I have one for street/stunts. I have another supsended for dirt. But it seems like I keep putting my street tires on it and doing motard. I think I need another one for motard.

Re: 2 Wheel set up ?????

Well I was just at the honda dealer over my lunch. Got some pricing on stock wheels and F that!

Front: $165.00
Rear: $163.00 (+ sprocket)
This is for wheel spokes & hub only. The brake rotor system is extra. Might as well go for the billets at that price. He said a group buy could possibly be worked out but he didn't know how much of a discount that would be without talking to the manager.

I would say this option is OUT for me. I'd rather have the trick billets for that kind of money myself. Looks like I will be sticking to one tire style or the other for a while.

Re: 2 Wheel set up ?????

I bit the bullet and bought a set for street tires only a while ago. Think I paid a little over 100 each (complete wheel without sprocket). Nice to say "today I think I'll ride dirt" and BAM 15min. later I'm hittin the whoops.

Oh, and your welcome
dude the rims and spokes are not the expensive part, it's the hubs and brakes that make a second setup expensive. so no it is not a gift from heaven.

Re: 2 Wheel set up ?????

Thanx but i already knew about bbr sale. The problem is hubs and wheel lacing could easily be 100- 200 bucks on top of the rims and spokes. So to me the douglas of ebay for 399 is still a good deal
