forks dont move

Okay once again my front forks don't work.
I must have effed up the top part of the forks or something.
I can't think of what else did it, anyone?
How much do the upper(gold part) of the forks cost if i have to replace?

Re: forks dont move

I had applied springs and brass bushings, it did it once. The applied springs were bent because they are ****.Got +1 for tubes, nylon bushings and had the place put in new springs. Later found out they just put in new applied (which are shitty springs never buy them) Worked for a little now stopped really moving again, they will move if you force them but don't move in a trail. So I might just try new springs and see if it helps but im guessing it has to be the upper fork(gold part) because thats the only thing i haven't replaced.

Re: forks dont move

hmm shouldn't be anything wrong with the fork uppers.. there basicly just empy tubes to hold the guts. everything is connected to the lower legs. Once you take them two bolts out of the top tripple and remove the circlip under the rubber boots on each leg everthing should just slide out. Drift the pin on the collar, unscrew the springs off the mounts, twist down the new springs then put the mounts top and bottom back on. Then put the lower fork tube and the spring assembly back together, put the pin back through the collar, lube em up and slide em back in. Sounds like the springs just completely compressed and stayed that way. All you should have to do is take them apart and put in new springs. Should fix it. Sounds like they just screwed you over the first time. I got the HD Sik50's springs & bushings in mine and they been great!

Re: forks dont move

They aren't completely compressed, they won't compress without tons of heman force.
I'll see if i can take her to the vd clinic sometime soon.
