Applied racing springs?

Why the heck are they so cheap? $30 for fronts and $40 for a rear? It's awesome deal, but too good to be true? How do these things perform? Also, on xr50.com the front springs are pictured with metal endcaps or somethin. What are those?

I'm also buying the Factory Metals +1 chromoly fork legs. Any input on these things?

Thanks everyone!

Re: Applied racing springs?

they work great, get a pair. those metal things on top, are the end caps. they'll save you some time, taking off the stock caps are a bitch. IMO

Re: Applied racing springs?

You've ridden my 50, and i have the Applied Rear Spring. It works fine, and those are endcaps on the front springs.

I'm gonna get the +1 forks and the front springs too, so when you get em tell me how they work.

Re: Applied racing springs?

Don't mind my stupidity, but what are ya talkin about Buick? Do you mean they get saggy or somethin? I thought springs were supposed to bend, then go back (hence the name).

Clue me in...

Re: Applied racing springs?

Screw springs and legs and bushings...For half the price you can set up some mr50 forks that are twice as good.

No I mean they bent, like permanent kink in them and they didn't work anymore. GAAABAGE. And springs jobs are to compress and go boing boing.
I have given you the clues, solve the mystery.

I got applied front and rear and they work perfect for me, no problems. As long as you aren't doing huge jumps you should be fine. That seems to be when everyone starts braking frames and forks and stuff. Also make sure you get some bushings, I got the ones from 50ccracing.com

Re: Applied racing springs?

Yea, I'm a cheap bastard. I don't have the cash for the fork legs yet, nor the bushings. I just ordered an Applied rear spring and I went with Red baron front springs. I hope they work good enough until I can buy the bushings and fork legs.

I liked the way the forks felt much better than stock though, so I got some for the 04. Plus they are only like $35 so if I bend em, oh well buy some new ones, lol
