Rolling stoppies?

How in the HECK do you get them to roll?

I've been trying to get it up somewhat high then like slowly let off the brake and lean foward, but i just drop down.

Then I tried not hitting the front brake as hard and just throwing my weight foward.

None of this stuff has worked..can you guys give me some pointers?

Thanks

Re: Rolling stoppies?

you have to have speed and bring it to the balance point as fast as possible.

Re: Rolling stoppies?

I see in your picture you still have knobbies which really hurts your rolling!!!
I can roll them a little over thirty feet topped out in second or slow third. The key is jam the front brake while doing like a back "bunny hop". Get to the balance point as fast as possible without flipping which takes a few wrecks which usually hurt pretty bad at that speed.
Just practice!!!!
Ride hard and I found having shin guards help a ton. Since you usually fly over the handle bars and kick the crap out of the bike on the way off.

Re: Rolling stoppies?

Try pinning 2nd (then after 3rd), sit forward towards the tanks, squeeze the brakes (start small.. then work up), and somewhat feather it (don't pump it). That should get the ball rolling until you feel out where you're comfortable.

Also, try messing with your brake adjustment nut on your front wheel. See where you like it to grab. I personally like the lever soft, so I loosen the nut a bit.

Re: Rolling stoppies?

I defeintly would not rotate them that is too much work. Just buy a 3.0 X 10 for the rear and a 2.75 for the front. Street tires will help a ton. I was rolling maybe 5 feet on the stock tires. Put street tires on and within an hour had 16 feet.
The street tires will also help your wheelies a ton!!!!!

Screw street tires...Just keep practicing. After a while your front tire should be as bald as your back tire. I put a knobbie on the front and after about a week of working on stoppies i wore it down to nothing. Oh and you gotta be in at least 2nd gear or you will never learn, and dont be a *****. I'm working on 4th gear 50mph ones now, it's fun as ****.

Ah going to guess most people don't have a 4 speed trans in their Fiddys!!!!
Sounds cool though post up some video's of this man!!! I am guessing that 192 foot stoppie would have to have something like that.

Re: Rolling stoppies?

**** i dont know about 192ft. I could do maybe 80ft with the stock engine but i havent really tried it much with the new engine, gotta get the throttle to stop sticking. Ill practice em after i get the bike running good again and see it i can get over 100ft.
