Re: where do you buy mag wheels for 50's

they say you have to use z50 hub whats up with that so what do you need to do once you get them to install them on your tire and they are tubeless right cause the whole point of wantin one is because i pop to many tires from useing low tire pressure the spokes are poppin the tire or do you have any other suggestions about this

Re: where do you buy mag wheels for 50's

You can use a Z50 tire and rim and hub for the rear. $45 on ebay, but you can't use a z50 front tire with the stock xr50 forks. The xr50 forks are not wide enough. You would have to use Z50 forks on the xr to make it work and thus buy a Z50 bar clamp. Still this would be cheaper than those expensive xr custom wheels.

I'd say to throw a z50 wheel on the rear with a nice new tube and tire and leave the xr50 rim on the front. Its usually the rear tire that blows out on our 50's. Hope this helps.

I've yet to pop a tube even with low pressure on my Z with dirt or street tires.

This stuff is on there all the time. These aren't in the greatest shape but you could sand and paint them.

Good Luck :YEAH

tighten your spokes, then take off your tire and use duct tape around the rim to cover up the spoke heads. make a couple passes with it, it will hold the rubber piece in place and keep from poking the rim

i just thought of this too, buy some epoxy and cover all the spoke tops in the rim and get a valve stem from a bike shop, be less than $10 and you could run tires without tubes.

let me know, i might do this too

I am negotating with dealers, and they don't want me selling below dealer cost. So I set a MSRP price, Sik50's are now listing my rims on their site. I can't sell below their price becuase of dealer qty pricing. My rims are worth every penny, one piece construction, custom widths, disc brake versions etc.

So we set MSRP @ $599.00 a set. Which is very competitive with the market, for a custom set of billet rims.

thanks
Jeff

I guess i can understand you trying to make some money. They look like badass wheels, it just sucks cause everytime I look at em the price is higher. Kinda makes me wish i woulda got some when they were cheap.

Damn, 6 hundo? Not that they're not worth it or anything, but I was just telling a guy tonight about how pimp your wheels were and that you were only charging $350 instead of $600 like everybody else...
