iv thought bout puttin a pipe on my z and was wonderin if the pipe from a xr would fit. if anyones done this let me know

The frame mount and length/shape are different. Go get a Big Gun like Silver Surfer

The shocks on a Z will be in the way. The XR/CRF pipe runs where the shcoks on the Z are.

The Big Gun is a nice pipe for $169.

 

i didnt know anyone made a pipe for a z50. i thought everybody went to xr's when they came out and discontinued anything for a z ok thanks alot guys did u make that bar kit or buy it

There are a couple aftermarket companies that make pipes for the Z
Big Gun, Fast 50's, and Two Brothers , just to name a few.

Check out these sites for more Z50 parts. There is just as much stuff out there for the Z50's , you just need to know where to look. I've got $2500 in mine so I need to stop looking.

A xr pipe will fit on a z, but it will look all ghetto and stick way out. I got bored 1 day and put my stock xr pipe on my 79 z50 and my 74. It was funny looking but sounded better.

79 is different than 99.

 

A 1979 and 1999 are the same frame and rear shock mount. The seat, gas tank and plastics are different but it would make no difference on how the exhaust fits. Exhaust from a 1969-1999 Z are all the same and all will interchange between those years.
