Why do supermotards do that to their front fender? Does it decrease wind resistance? Is it more aerodynamic? I'm curious.

 

Decreases wind pressure on the front fender a lot on a big bike. When I had my Husky supermoto I had the stock dirt fender on it until I crashed a stoppie and broke it off. The front tire, at about 80mph, would get really light because of the air stuffing into the fender.

Put a stubby supermoto specific fender on after the crash and it didn't get light in the front anymore. Shorter fender plus vented in the rear of the fender to let the air through.

No reason on the . Just thought my buddies looked cool so I thought, why not?

Personally I think its kinda ugly, but that me. But you can buy areodynamic front fender for big bikes, But if its that important take it off.
