Re: bore kits

Ive got a 88 in one of mine that i use for dirt and im not as good on one wheel on it as i am my stock50, but that also might have to do with the fact that the rest of the bike is set up for jumping and not stunting.

the 88s are a bit more twitchy and takes a little bit of getting used to if your stunting it. I know some peeps out here that rock 88's and 100's on the streets and they can pull some of the sweetest **** no prob. Just takes some getting used to.

Re: bore kits

I say just keep it stock...my freind has a 1970 50cc honda engine(same as a xr50s just downshifting isntead of upshifting) and it works find to this day....If you get a big bore kit your engine will last less then 5 years and u gotta rebuild alot more often thena stock one....but I guess it has some good parts like going alot faster and having alot of power so If u dont mind rebuilding your motor and taking more intesive care then get it...otherwise keep it stock...

Re: bore kits

im guessing it wouldnt be as twitchy since it makes less power than an 88cc kit?

Re: bore kits

The 88cc bore kits are twitchy but when you get use to it the stock ones are just dogs... DO IT !!

Re: bore kits

or gear up. the more u throw gear at it the more it will work that motor down.

well this is sorta true
a big bore is no more problem than a stock one if you leave the stock components on it such as carb ,pipe, airbox a 75cc will be perfect for that combination even better would be an xr70 carb and airbox and the 50 stk pipe
no twichy even with an 88cc kit this would all still be aplicable itll start in all weather everytime forever, if you keep the oil clean, this is barring oil pump failure from riding wheelies endlessly for hours, thatll trash any 50 motor
if you start throwing pipes and airpods on it you screw everything up
and now the bike has to be worked on everytime the weather changes
from hot to cold, and when the gas stations change the seasonal formulas for there gas and after all that, you gain nothing more from it except noise
get your bore up job you should have no probs with the stk stuff bolted back on to it and have some cool torque
cheaper just to buy a smaller countershaft sproket if your just looking for torque for stunting but thats just me i like to do it the easy way
