Lessons learned the hard way.
Lessons learned the hard way.
I hate when you are installing stuff, and you screw up big time. Yesterday we were installing fork bushing and springs on my friends 50. We didnt realize that the lower spring holder was held in by little pin, we tried twisting it out and broke the spring holder. Needless to say we need a new lower spring holder, the part can the spring screws onto and mounts to the fork legs. If anyone has one that they dont mind getting rid of, please let me know. Honda is telling me that you cant buy this part seperately, and you have to purchase the whole lower assembly spring, leg and all, which runs $75. If anyone has a solution or a spare lower spring perch laying around let me know how much you want for it.
So if you are going to replace your bushings, knock the pin out first.

Thanks, I have a 50 manual sitting at my house too. But I failed to bring it with me that day. I was in a hurry and forgot it. I had already done my springs, so I knew how that install was going to go, but I forgot he bought bushings also. Thanks for the offer anyhow.
