Old z50's any good???

My friend wants to get pocket bikes. I think a fiddy would be alot more fun but i don't want to spend the cash for an xr or crf. I've seen old like 70's z50's go on ebay for about the price of the pocketbikes ($400). Are these things any good for stunts? Are they basically the same as the newer z50's? I was also wondering if they are the same size as the newer ones or if they are bigger, some appear larger.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

i've got an old z but it doesn't run, i like to sit on it and its a couch.
i'd rather rock an old z than a pocketbike.

If you want to sell it let me know. Is it the approx. the same size as a newer 50? Is it as fast? Does it still wheelie and stuff?

Yeah, they're really just the same bike, different suspension and frame layout. Oh yeah, the forks are much wider, and Honda didn't go to CDI ignition until the early 80's (don't quote me on that). YOu can get bore kits, cams, all that good stuff for them, just like the newer XR/CRF's. I'd say go for it, if you can find an old z for cheap, do it. And yes, it will wheelie, and is fully capable of hurting you.

You can rock them just the same as an XR. They're a little more cramped and a lot harder to stoppie.

They work great. I have two. They just seem a little heavier. The wider tires let them go through just about anything. They will never die either.
